Adjectives (adj.) are words that describe or modify nouns (n.): small, big, new, old, red, black, beautiful, cute, handsome, etc. Learn more about basic Thai grammar rules.

Here is how to use adjectives in Thai.

In Thai, the noun comes before adjectives! While in English, adjectives come before the noun it modifies.

For example:

English: Adjective + Noun

beautiful women

cute dog

handsome man

black car

Thai: Noun + Adjective

ผู้หญิงสวย

/pôo-yĭng sŭay/

women beautiful
